Instructions
How to install 1. Download the latest Dev Build (-> Post #1). 2. Open the ZIP archive and open the folder "Release". 3. Extract the contents from that folder to "System/Flash UI/". 4. Replace the "N" in "mainmenuN.swf" with "1", "2" or "3" (X7 users can only replace it with "1" or "2"). Which number you choose depends on which mainmenu you'd like to replace. Read your player's manual if you don't know what I mean. Please note: If file extensions are hidden (so the file is only called "mainmenuN"), do not add ".swf" to the filename. Getting Started The first time you start Cheetah GTX, the settings screen will open automatically. That is because the standard theme is not finished yet and you have to choose an alternative theme. In order to do that, open "Themes" and select "Windows Phone". Then close the settings screen and restart Cheetah (you will be prompted to do so). The Windows Phone theme has two simple gestures: Up/down to navigate the current page vertically, and left/right to open the next/previous page. There are three pages: The first one contains all stock features; the second one contains your installed apps; The third one contains miscellaneous features such as "shutdown" and "mainmenu" (where you can open another mainmenu). . Just a clarification: Dev Builds are constantly updated and aren't announced anymore. At the moment, the current Dev Build contains the 99%-finished picture viewer, more settings and the localization feature.

Important Poll:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...WWpqbTZtVUE6MQ ---- I opened this thread now because Cheetah GTX is now a working mainmenu. You cannot use the Standard Theme yet, but the Windows Phone theme lets you use it like a regular mainmenu and contains all basic features. Feel free to discuss now about Cheetah GTX. ![]()

One thing a little bit off-topic: I tried two vote more than once in your poll and it worked. Just mentioning...

Help! Installed GTX as mainmenu2. When switching to another mainmenu, found that the Go to Mainmenu Gui didn't drop all the way down and off screen and in fact stayed ON TOP of whatever else came up (other mainmenu).
Worst of all, I went to switch the thing off and the J3 BRICKED while ON. Screen is frozen and I can't even turn it off. Any advice? I understand that these UCI's are not supposed to damage the J3, so I assume everything is all right . . . just not sure how to proceed. Thanks and watch out for GTX to brick your J3 at this point . . . By the way, otherwise, GTX is AMAZING. Super fast and responsive. Just (understandably) still buggy! UPDATE: Used the reset hole. Reproduced GUI sticking. Was able to turn off device using onscreen button; no freeze-up. Started on other mainmenu. Seems fine. Last edited by rwolfe; 06-19-2012 at 14:39.. Reason: update |

rwolfe: There's a reset hole on the player's back - take a paper clip (or something similar) and push it into that hole until there's a "click" noise (or until the screen switches off).

rwolfe, I have a request: Would you please download the latest build, install it as usual and do the following?:
- Open System/Flash UI/Cheetah GTX/ - Rename the file "pulldown_menu.swf" to something else such as "_pulldown_menu.swf" - When the UCI starts you will see an error message - that's fine - Try to reproduce the freezing problem - does it still occur?

Kizune,
Did as you asked, cannot recreate the stuck "Go to Mainmenu" GUI or the freeze-up of the J3. (Of course, can't pull down that other GUI at all while in GTX, either . . . ) |

Good, so I narrowed down the cause of the freeze-up problem to the pull-down menu. Thanks for the help.

UH OH: Oops. Actually, I thought things were fine, but now the thing has frozen up completely again while on. This is after I switched to another Mainmenu from GTX. (Was flipping around between all mainmenus, stopped on one and assumed it was all good, posted, then tried to use the thing and found it actually was frozen up again).
Hope this helps! |
