Default [done] Cheetah pre-Beta freezes J3

Hi,

when I start the J3, tab on Music, tap on play, tilt the device to enter the browser the J3 frezzes within the first three wipes.

This is reproducable.

I even formatted the J3 and reinstalled cheetah... and again this happens.

J3, FW 2.26, cheetah pre-Beta 0.1, downloaded from Kizunes thread here...

ideas anyone?

Tilt the player to enter the browser? I'm not so sure what you're talking about there. And just in case it helps someone else, maybe you could share which browser UI, music UI, and launcher you're using.

And just a question: does this only happen on startup? 'Cause I've been getting some funky behavior right after startup too; my music keeps pausing right after I press play in my music or browser UI, though this stops when I select a new song.

Oh by the way, welcome to the forum^^

i dont seem to get this problem, but then again, this is a prebeta so i would expect numerous bugs in the UI

... sorry about my english... bringing the player from a vertical position to a horizontal. The "music is playing" interface then disapears and the browser comes up.

Ok, thats a little tricky since I don't know exactly what is what: I have the J3 as it comes, then I installed cheetah and the High FPS Launcher. Thats it.

Depends on what you mean with startup. I press the Powerbutton and wait like 20 sec. it happens... but if I wait much longer the J3 gos in deep sleep or something: I have to press the Powerbutton again to use it.

actually you're right... maybe I should switch over to Lynx... that seems to be way more developed.

btw: anybody knows a good resource where I may find an explanation of what a browser UI, music UI, and launcher is and what they are doing and what the differences are?

yes.

go to lynx forum
leaf forum
sense forum.

kizune explains in there everything, right on the first page.

also, as a recomandation, delete the launcher.

The launcher is more meant for Cheetah is what he means. Using it for other ui's atm cause some wierd... after effects. You'll find out shortly if you keep it on .

On a side note: Shouldn't this have been in the main cheetah thread? I guess I'm ok with a new thread but we can't keep having ones like this pop up once in a while because some new J3 owners are having problems with a pre-beta ui like cheetah. Let all the vegetables in the soup, not falling out the pot...

I don't see that this way.
New Users w/ same Problem shouldn't have to read through +12 pages to see IF someone probably has the same problem and what might caused it... but if a mod sees it like you he shure feels free to move this thread whereever he thinks it belongs.

So long...I'm closing this one since I change to Lynx and the problem just might be pre-Beta Software!

Thanks guys... that was quick and helpfull!

yes, using the launcher, this time is not really the best. wait until kizune finishes, all his work, and the launcher to be good for every ui.

Now I'm curious... what are these "after effects" you mentioned, da1? I use my launcher and haven't experienced any bugs in the stock UIs (except for the mainmenu since I use Cheetah).

Hi Kizune!

... since you don't say anything to my "problem" I guess you dont have a similar behaviour?

I installed Lynx and it is ... well ... way slower than cheetah. Would love to use cheeath

Yeah, sorry, I don't know why you have such a problem. Everything outside Cheetah works fine for me.
But I wonder, does this problem also occur if you don't use Cheetah?

I thought I read a user having some problems in other uis (too fast?).. I'll see if I can find the posts unless you already know the user/posts that say this. Haven't really used a launcher personally due to the scare of a higher battery drainage I heard about often...
