thx for your help once more.
so i have to look, what to do now. i think for a better workflow maybe have to wait for a new system. 20 hours battery-life seems to low for me. but i`m sure...cowon is the player with the best sound-variations. i love the handling and battery-life of this player too. but i need a professional way to work... |

one thing to be aware of - the playlist spec requires the codec extension ie track1.mp3, track2.ogg etc. the json export does not include this so unless your files are ALL mp3 or ALL flac or ALL ogg or ALL whatever you will need to adjust for this in your final playlist.

I have a tracks loaded that I am playing. Can I save this so I can then select something else to play and then go back to the same list and be on the track I was playing?

go into "Playlist" and select the square button and there you can choose to create a playlist which though of course you'll need to add Tracks to Fav. List first.

Hi Kizune,
I have an X7, and would like to try your UCI. Where do I go to download it, and how do I put it in my X7, and if I don't want it how do I uninstall it? These may be stupid questions, but I need to ask, just to make I understand what to do. Also does your UCI count a total on songs and albums the X7 has in the unit in their respected folders once your UCI is installed? I'm fairly new here and it seems your UCI is the best, especially when it comes to fitting album art correctly. Hope you can answer my questions. Horus. |

Hi Kizune,
I noticed your screen shots for Sense UCI, and even though, it shows Album Title, Artist, song - but no year (Album released date). Have you added this since then, if not could you do so with your next version if possible? Horus. Last edited by Horus; 03-19-2012 at 21:27.. |

(a) Lynx, for main menu desktop (b) Leaf, for browser (c) Sense, for music (d) Vision, for pictures You used to be able to conveniently get all of the first three from Kizune's web site but this site seems to no longer be functioning. The UCI installer ZIP files are downloaded to your PC. Then you un-zip them to expand, placing ALL of the expanded folder/file contents onto the J3 under its \System\Flash UI folder on internal storage. ![]() Un-install (if you want) is simply the deletion of the corresponding folders and files you placed under \System\Flash UI in the first place. |

If you are using the Cowon standard music player, and you tap on the album art, you'll see what Cowon thought should be shown as "detailed file information", which unfortunately does not show genre or year. That's also a firmware limitation in developing a UCI. Note that you can browse your collection by genre or year... because it's actually scanned and detected at boot time, and becomes one of the five major "sort keys" for the tags database built at boot time. So the tag field data itself is clearly seen, examined, and utilized. But for some crazy reason Cowon never thought to display those tag field values in their music player, i.e. made available from firmware to UCI as well. It's been this way forever. |

Hi DSperber,
(Another stupid question) So does this mean I need to have all 4 installed - Lynx/Leaf/Sense/Vision to create the UCI for my X7 to make it all work? Horus. Last edited by Horus; 03-20-2012 at 01:34.. |

You can install any or all. Whatever you place into \System\Flash UI is "installed", and whatever you don't is not. However it's certainly true that Leaf and Sense work very very very well together, and there is functionality available with Leaf (e.g. 1st-letter "jump" in lists, to avoid having to finger-scroll through lists which might be hundreds or thousands of entries long, cached lists, etc.) that you will not get if you only install Sense. You should absolutely give both Leaf and Sense a try. You can also install Lynx and it's really very much like the "Smart Widgets" desktop that Cowon provides. If you spend 100% of your time in browser/music like I do, then you'll only be in main desktop when you power on and power off, so for me Lynx is nice but Cowon's Smart Widgets would be very similar to me. for me, Lynx is nowhere near as useful and nice and beneficial over Cowon's factory interfaces as Leaf/Sense which I wouldn't give up. |
