Default Like the D2 to D2+, S9 to j3?

Hey guys just curious, like the D2+'s firmware was ported to the D2, could that be possible with the s9 and j3? I know that many things wont work, like the speaker functions and stuff, but it should shouldnt it?

It won't work.. the J3 has different hardware, such as another screen, speakers and maybe some other things, which makes it impossible.
And I don't think that Cowon includes hardware support for the S9 in the J3 firmware...

As we got the whole UI now I dont see the need for the J3 fw on the S9 if it not gets updated with lots of new feutureres in the future. The one thing is multi touch, but Im quite sure the S9 doesnt have th hardware for that.

The D2/D2+ situation was much different as the only differences in hardware were cosmetic.

I guess the S9 would just refuse installing the firmware and recover itself. That's what it does when you try to install a corrupted S9 firmware.

I was wondering when someone would try for this. I doubt it would work, but I suppose if someone twisted the firmware hard enough you could force it in--it just wouldn't work well.

Try a few different computers. WHen I unbricked my D2 for the first time with Tcctool I had to run between three computers.

WAI, you are crazy

But it's interesting that the S9 accepted the firmware.. I guess it just checks whether the upgrade routine is valid which isn't the case when you install a corrupted firmware, but when you install the firmware of a similar device.

I hope you can fix your problem!
