Default D2+ unrecognized by computer in MTP mode

Hi,
I just installed firmware 2.11 and now, when I switch to MTP mode to reinstall my playlists, my computer no longer recognizes my player. I can't find it when I go to the My Computers folders. It simply won't load. It is recognized in MSC mode, but in tha t mode I can't load playlists to the D2+. I'm using Windows XP Service pack 2 operating system. It used to recognize the player just fine with the 2.10 firmware. Am I missing drivers? Should I have some other software installed? Also, I uninstalled it from my Device manager and tried to reinstall the drivers, but the message cloud "found new hardware" won't go away. Help!
