Default Cowon A3 charging issue

When I connect my A3 to the charger and try to charge, the A3 automatically boots up and switches on. Instead of the charger icon which should be shown, it shows the battery icon, meaning it is not charging. Even after I turn it off, the charging indicator LED turns on and off intermittently. Is it a problem with the unit or charger?

About your Question, u have to do a 'cross-test'.
Meaning: Check your charger with a different A3, and also, check your A3 with a different charger.

Besides that, i think its the A3.

U better give more details about this issue, so we can help u, like:

*Can u charge it from USB as in 'HOLD' mode?
*Can u charge it while the player is already on?

Unfortunately, I have'nt been able to get hold of a spare charger to do the cross test.About your other questions;Yes, I can charge my A3 in the USB mode, and I can charge it when player is on.
When you say a problem with A3, do you mean a software issue or damaged parts?

Software or hardware? Hard to say, but u can FW fix it or maybe even format the unit.
If your issue is solved after this, the answer is software problem. But if not, its maybe hardware.. U better succeed doing this, mate.

i have the same problem, and i found a solution for it . you just have to rotate the charging pin and see which angle works , that's what works for me. But ya its a little frustrating

Rotation means hardware.. And maybe its not covered by warranty, like cracks in the A3's body.. =-(

Rotating? Do you mean it's about wire or socket?

Frank's solution worked for me too...seems like its a common problem for A3's after a few months of use?

I've had mine for 15 months now, and this problem started appearing just a few weeks ago...
