Default Problem downgrading from D2+ DMB 1.10 to D2+ 2.10 or 3.10

Hi,

I've upgraded my D2+ player to the 1.10 DMB firmware without knowing for sure if it's a DMB compatible model or not. Further reading made me think it actually is the standard version. That's why i'm trying to revert back to any of the older 2.1 or 3.1 firmwares. Unfortunately although i copied the files to the root folder, in either case it doesn't do any change in firmware and the files remain in the root.

I search the forums and i couldn't find any tutorial on how to downgrade the D2+ to an earlier version or to revert it back to the factory firmware.

Thank you for your help in advance!

You can always revert to an original D2 Version. Simply follow the "how to unbrick your D2 if it does not turn on anymore" in the forum. This is the safest procedure to fully wipe the D2+ firmware from your player.
Short instructions (for those familiar with tcctool):
- Upload "0" folder d2n.bin with tcctool
- Copy "0" folder d2n.bin to root of player
- Upload "0" folder d2n.bin with tcctool again, file from root will now be flashed
- Copy "1" folder d2n.bin to root of player
- Restart player to flash the file
- Copy "2" folder theme/font files to root of player
- Restart player to flash the files

I've read the stickies before posting and downloaded the archive containing the specified folders. However i'm not sure if they apply to the D2+ player (as they specify the D2 version of the device) and/or using Vista can pose any problem.

If you don't want to downgrade to the original d2 firmware using the above instructions, then you can try using the "unbrick instructions" to change your fw to 2.10. No idea if vista would cause an issue.

Here's a link to the "how to unbrick your D2 if it does not turn on anymore" sticky, as the D2+ hardware is identical you shouldn't have a problem. Although i'll admit I'm not sure why your d2+ won't upgrade as normal.

To be honest if you don't want to try this then you should be contacting Cowon.

I've already contacted Cowon and their response unfortunately lacked any useful advice. I'll try using your advice and see what happens.

Thank you for your quick help!

I'm a little curious, which cowon did you contact? America? Korea? Global? Germany? Russia?
