Post whatever settings you are using for JetEffect 3.0 and BBE+ .Put also the headphones you are using if you would so that people who happen to have the same headphones can try out your settings. Good to see this post. I decided I was going to start the same thread as soon as I got my settings figured out, but I'm still not decided on a general listening scheme, although this one did sound nice:
I use a pair of Shure SE530's so I don't overdo the EQing, if you use less isolated headphones you will probably need to boost the lower end and lower midrange frequencies to preference, as well as increasing the BBE setting. I adopted these from my D2 and still need to tweak as it certainly sounds different. I will post some more once I got everything exactly the way I want it... 80Hz (normal): 5 (from wide to normal to really just boost the warmth/deepness of the sound, otherwise it was a tad boomy) 300Hz (wide): 3 (upped the frequency to get a little less depth punch/bit more solid instrumental sounds) 780Hz (wide): 3 3.0kHz(wide): 3 13kHz (wide): 5 (lower this frequency range for more apparent voices/less brightness) BBE: 1 Mach3Bass: 2 3D Surround: 3 MP Enhance: OFF STE: OFF Oh, my 'general listening' is mostly anything from classical to blues to rock to metal, mostly having lots of instruments/acoustics.

Just got my s9 and have been fiddling with the settings using a pair of Sleek Audio SA6's with bass+ and treble++ ports.
EQ +2...80Hz......Narrow +3...500Hz....Wide +3...1.4kHz...Wide +5...3.0kHz...Wide +6...11.7kHz..Narrow Just for some perspective this is the frequency response of SA6 with neutral ports, so you can kind of see what i was trying to do. BBE+ BBE: 4 Mach3Bass: 2 3D surround: 1 MP Enhance: on STE: off I don't have any real particular taste in music so it's a combination of everything altrock, classical, film scores, blues, etc. I suppose one underlying characteristic of the music I like is they usually tend to have nice group or solo instrumentals. |

I use the Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pro earbuds and these EQ settings:
BBE = 10 MachBass = 10 80Hz = 12 (Wide) 220Hz = 4 (Normal) 780Hz = 0 (Normal) / 1.1Khz Wide (deciding) 4.1Khz = 6 (Normal) 13KHz = 12 (Normal) Still playing around with the sound so this may change. |

Ouch, lots of smiley curves. I try to aim for a neutral sound:
Grado SR-325i -- low bass boost, treble cut. It's a great headphone after correction, but the fact that it needs it kind of sucks. 80Hz +3 normal [... the stuff in between is zero'ed out ...] 3KHz -1 wide 13KHz -3 wide Etymotic ER-4p -- heavy bass boost, wider band... having "big bass" on this thing is kind of a lost cause though. 80Hz +5 wide (the rest zeroed out) BBE is off unless I'm (say) connecting to a crappy car stereo, then I crank it up. BBE's original purpose was time/phase compensation for bad stereos, pickups/mics, amps and PAs, so... |
