Default Softmaker Textmaker 2002 and Planmaker 2004

Anyone know how to keep the SIP from turning off when i am in textmaker 2002?

I am trying to use softmaker textmaker 2002 which does install and seems to work in the q5w. but i can't get the SIP to stay up

Btw, textmaker 2002 and planmaker 2004 are great pieces of software which allows nearly full fledge word and excel file editing. I got these to install and run on the q5w. however i am having a few issues: one is the above, can't seem to get the SIP in q5w to work with it.

The other is that it seems that many of textmaker and planmaker dialog box does not show the ok button and only the X (cancel button). so i can't save what i choose.

The current textmaker and planmaker 2006 does not work for win with mips. However, the older version, textmaker 2002 and planmaker 2004 does work with mips.

Anyone else interested in getting this to work? Like i say, this is THE office suite for q5w as far as functionality goes.

Update:

I still can't get SIP (the input keyboard) to stay up all the time. However i was able to connect a USB keyboard and that works fine. Of course, powering the usb keyboard will decrease the battery time, but will allow me to type faster making up for the time>

Textmaker 2002 and Planmaker 2004 now work great. I can do nearly full word file editing and excel spreadsheet editing.

Unfortunately these older versions are only available on a per request basis from softmaker (which charges the same amount for these programs as the price of the newest ver available only for arm or xscale cpu ;().

If everyone writes to softmaker, maybe they will make their office 2008 which includes presentation maker for editing ppt as well as chart and graph capability for excel available also for MIPS processors?

I just got a Targus foldable portable keyboard . Works great with the q5w . Using this keyboard and textmaker, planmaker, I am planning to leave my laptop home unless i need to do heavy typing.

wonder how long the battery will last now that it also has to power the keyboard.

Hello,

no, both the beta and final version will not support MIPS CPU.

Currently the only Bluetooth profile supported by the Q5W is audio headset. As far as I know, pretty much any USB keyboard should work.

ya, i tried the regular variety usb keyboard you can get for less than $10. should work.

I got the targus foldable usb keyboard for the obvious portability. And i am also hoping this smaller keyboard will use less power (wishful thinking?)

Help How to Install Textmaker 2002 MIPS on Q5W

Does anybody know how to install Textmaker 2002 MIPS or what files you need to make it work. I tried to install it with Activesync no success, I also tried to install it by extracting the files onto my PC and then copying the files over to the cowon....no success....

Tango out;

Martin
