I knew Cowon always make top quaility MP3 product as do the very famous A2....and i'm really looking forward for Q5 since their $550 retail is kinda below my original budget..... the review @ gizmodo is kinda...hummm........ well, i'm sure no product has only cons without pros..... and i'm sure once Q5 released in US, many other website will run some review on it and by that time.... i wonder there'll some sorta "gee.....Q5 ain't bad at all..... why the xxxx did gizmodo said that @ the first place!?!?" everywhere

Just hope Q5 won't postbone the relase date @ the US... for i dont' really want to get the korean-market version....

The best review I've seen is the one on this site (Korean model) if the product is that bad why an earth would someone who owns one on this site say the opposite of what Mr Iphone has said?

As Cowon have been so bad with the product positioning maybe they have given the Cowon guy at this event an old prototype with a poor touchscreen which subsequently led to the constant delay in the item coming out. Heres hoping anyway

I agree with you on the not apple issue but honestly, if the "old prototype" has the same touchscreen but has been abused, I would question the longevity of the product. Nevertheless, I'm still anxious to get one.

The problem with the Q5 is that it has a terrible WinCE 5.0 interface. If they really wanted this device to work, they would have had to put a lot of R&D into making an awesome interface/operation system that is easy to control. Instead, since they aren't a huge company with all that money, they spent it on making a WinCE app which frankly sucks and doesn't have much polish from what I've seen.

I can see where Gizmodo is coming from. I mean, take a look at the pictures feature in all of the Cowon devices. They still don't rival that of the iPod photo and Archos units, with nice transitions or thumbnails. It's things like this and a crappy slow processor that make the Cowon Q5 look thrown together.

the generation mp3 review is far more positive and it looks a lot more responsive in the this video than the gizmodo review. i would like to see what the internet is like. I do agree about Windows CE 5.0 being a bit dated and a little sluggish, however for the primary functions of music, video and photo i think the Q5 will do a good job, juts wish it was cheaper!!

Cnet is just as bad. Over half of its main stories on the front page seem to orientate around the Iphone or Apple. Biased is if you ask me.

An Iphone advert? The review references the Iphone touchscreen in 1 sentence of the review. I would hardly call that an advert.

Exactly! The last sentence of the review was the word Iphone, maybe it's just me that that automatically remembers the last sentence insteas of the first

The way it was wrote just sounded like the guy was summing things up at the end with the word Iphone, or maybe i read to much into it

The video has been sped up though, so it's not as instant as the video makes out.

based on this review and the video I would say that this person didnt learn the functionality of the Q5. For those who have an A3, you know that the OS isnt IPHONE pretty and does not have dumb animations between changing windows. It has what you need/want great multi media. Looking at the video in the review I would say that this person is used to the flashy styled device. He also didnt seem to see that the controls require a double click :-P. The first two attempts I notice he clicks once becomes frustrated and then double clicks (Q5 response imeaditly.) Not sure what else he wanted out of the device. But ?I never really trust a review unless it is a month after owning it. which brings me to this.
