Default more pics, maybe info

Maybe you've seen this page already, but just in case you haven't: (scroll down just a bit)

Also if anyone can translate the Korean and shed any new light on the D2, i'd really appreciate it.

the korean forum from the link seems to be a good one. lots of people posting messages, including cowon's d2.

i have read a number of threads regarding the d2, but most of them were about how they have purchased the machine and their initial impressions. most people are complimenting how pretty d2 looks in person.

there seems to be a number of threads that lists some of the cons that users have experienced using d2 so far. the majority points out some user interface issues. nothing really serious, just minor complaints.

one example is about changing tracks when the player is in the pocket. since it's a touch screen, one needs to physically take out the player to change tracks, which can be a hassle. people pointed out that the M (mode?) button between the volume +, - buttons can be customized to any button you wish, thus it can be mapped as fast forward button. this could solve the problem partially by pressing the m button to fast foward track without taking out the player. but the users have complained that the M button is not that distinguishable from the volume buttons just by touch so this might not be the best alternative.

so in regards to the cons, people have pointed out the user interface which they hope to be addressed by future firmware upgrades. also, some people were hoping for remote add-on to the player which could also facilitate inputing simple commands without taking out the player. the overall satisfaction of the player itself seems very positive from the consumers.

this would be a new info in regards to battery life.
someone tested dmb battery life of the d2. the specification of the product has stated 9 hours of dmb playback and the actual playtime the user has gotten was 7 hours and 50 min. the testing conditions were, brightness: level 9 ::: volume: level 4. someone has pointed out that the level 9 brightness is pretty high and that might have been the reason why it did not last longer. as i understand, dmb is video playback so video watching from the player itself would last as long? maybe someone could shed more light on this.

lastly, i found this link which is from korean zdnet. you probably won't understand much but it does show some footage of the player so if you wanna check it out here you go:

i'll post some more stuff as i come across them.

thanks for the good link, i enjoyed reading them myself.

Thnx for the info. The customizable m button looks great. I'll check the site tomorrow (with google translate).

Damn that video is slow (or is it just me?).

Yeah, it's pretty slow. If you want to see it properly then use this app to allow you to download the whole thing using this URL.

Nah, just watched it for extra insight on the UI and the look of it. Honestly, Kevin's video is more insightful than this in that regard.

One thing that I saw that I did not get from Kevin's video was the SD slot. Is it covered or remains open? I have not seen a video that shows any detail enough to see whether there is a cover or not. It appears to be covered.

It seems to be open according to this vid: Click
I think there is an empty SD card (just plastic) in the package though. So it wil be covered when you don't use a SD card.
