I ordered it from Flipkart, after a week of waiting they cancelled my order stating that they were not able to source it. I called Cowon India and they confirmed that they do have the D2+ in stock, so I placed an order. It should be delivered in 2-3 days.

Anyone wanting to buy the D2+ can order it from the cowon India website [http://www.cowonindia.in], they have some units in stock and they ship internationally. They are currently having a clearance sale, cost of the 4gb model is Rs. 5250, which as per the today's exchange rate is around $95.

Unfortunately Flipkart doesn't do any international shipping anymore. They DO NOT ship internationally, not even when you pay extra shipping costs (they even write the DO NOT bit in capitals lol).

Cowon India gives the message:"Invalid Shipping Address.Currently we are unable to deliver the products to your specified shipping address".

EDIT: just got an email regarding my question why I can't seem to make an order from Europe from cowonindia.com.
Must say they replied quick.

"We currently don't accept orders from outside India and hence you were notified. Please feel free to get in touch in case you need further information.

Thanks and regards".

OK..if I buy a new Cowon D2+ 8GB from ebay and buy a 16/32GB sd-card, what will be the main disadvantage(s) in comparision to a 16GB D2+ (which is unrealistic to buy anymore).I was thinking: I could put my music on the sdcard and won't have to switch between the internal memory and sd-card.

I could have some movies on the 8GB internal flash memory but tbh, I will not buy the player for the (small) 8GB.This seems to be the (only) way to go for now. Thanks for letting me know about ebay gfc56 it's not yet a VERY well-known site here and I didn't think about checking the site myself.

EDIT: just bought a *brand new* "Cowon D2+ 8GB"! (ebay).

They'll be sending it from South-Korea My first and hopefully not last Cowon! Am very curious about the SQ after reading so many positive reviews, posts etc the last couple of weeks..

This is the one I wanted. This is the one I could afford.Happy

At least the way I use my D2 (folder view), playing audio from the SD card isn't different from playing from the internal memory. I've heard that the SD card draws a little more power, so battery runtime will be a bit shorter, but it's plenty long to begin with so I doubt a slight difference will matter.

The D2 is an excellent music player with almost ideal hardware features including some (like the full sized SD slot) that are hard to find on other small players. I'm afraid, though, that you probably made a poor choice of players if you got it with the idea of watching significant amounts of video on it. It's a great audio player with limited video capability added as almost an afterthought, in my opinion, plus the screen is too small to be any good for watching movies.

Thanks for your reply Paul.Movies are really an "extra" for me.I don't care much for movies (I should have been more clear the previous message), I think it would have been an ideal situation for me to have 16GB since I have about 14GB of the highest quality bitrate LAME-mp3's.So my current collection would fit the device perfectly.Since I could "only" get my hands on the 8GB it's too little space to put my whole mp3 library.I THINK it's not an ideal situation to have 1 part of my albums on the internal memory and the other part on a sd-card (because I guess I would have to swich between memories.Am not sure though..).

I will use the player mainly (90%) for audio and although I'm lucky enough I don't really like watching movies so don't care for a bigger screen I am thinking of putting some seasons of Family Guy, American Dad, Curb your enthusiasm etc..on the device.
Just as an extra option to watch/hear during travels (plane/train) when the battery of my mini-laptop is empty.

I am glad I finally made this decision..Man, there's just too much info online

PS: I do like some movies (Into the wild for example) but watching those kind of movies on such a small screen would indeed ruin it for me..

So put everything on the SD card. A 32GB card is just 20 dollars or so. I don't see a point in getting anything smaller. If you're feeling extravagant, you can even get a 256gb card. The internal memory is tiny compared to that. (The 8000 file limit will probably impair the 256gb card's usefulness, though, unless your music is all FLAC).

To put video on the D2 you have to run it through some conversion program on your PC. I've never even installed the program so I've never watched any video on the D2. I think even watching Family Guy on the small screen wouldn't be fun. It might be ok for sth. like watching an interview where you just see a person talking. If you want to watch movies while travelling, you're probably better off with a cheap android tablet.
