Default iaudio u2/5 vs iriver t10

Hi, I'm going to buy a dap,.. I want a 1gb u3 but I cannot find one on ebay..(I'm from europe and here u3 has got a fool price like 180/200€ 1 gb version!) I want to spend not so much, 100-130€..at this price on ebay I can find u2 1gb(81€+shipping=100€ circa), or iaudio 5 (136€+shipping) or iriver t10 at the wonderful price of 66€+shipping!

I want a dap with good quality, but I want to use it with "koss the plug" earbuds and I don't want to change them.. if I change them I will buy sennheiser mx 550 (circa the same price of koss but not so expensive as shure). So if I can hear the quality difference between iriver t10 and iaudio u2/5 only with shure or something similar I prefer the cheaper, if i can hear difference also using koss or sennheiser I prefer the best sounding of them.
For the moment iriver is advantaged for the price and for his 42hours of playback(I like the replacable battery like iaudio5 and iriver t10), but the quality is very important for me (I used minidisc for 2 years and I was satisfied.. I sold that only couse I hate sonicstage)..ah.. and for me size doesn't matter for a dap..so I don't mind about weight and size :tongueu:
ah.. I want a radio, but both of them has got that.

so..what's the best in my case?

Is the iAudio G3 available to you? It has battery life similar to the T10 due to the same battery type, and has audio/features identical to the U2/i5. I haven't used the T10, but I know that it doesn't have the great "JetEffects" that the Cowons have.

I've only read disappointed iRiver users which has compared the T10 to earlier modells and they don't seem to be happy with the audio quality of the samsung codec used.

So I would go with the iRiver IFP-799 or the iAudio U2. As far as I've understood it the IFP-799 should have a better chip but the iAdudio ones got special effects which might add up for that and they seem to handle more overall (bookmarks and stuff, irivers site doesn't mention much at all.)

Also I suppose the iAudio players can play all kinds of oggs? The iRiver IFP-799 can't play oggs under whatever bitrate it was and most oggs are VBR.

Wow, you dislike the design of the G3. You really don’t know what you’re missing. It’s a super-efficient design and the device offers the best of everything. And look at the G3 forum here to see what kind of satisfaction it brings to its owners.

You can continue with fashion over function if you want, but I think you’re making a mistake by doing such.

That's correct. And OGG q2 is super for flash devices. After my first usage of it, I was hooked! Mp3 is now just too "1997" for me.
