Hi, this is my first post, I want to buy a PMP
what is better to view photos, Archos Av 500 or A2? I need download and view photos of 8 mpixels (olympus E-500), is possible with A2? is slow? Can I see exif data? I know epson P-2000, but I will prefer A2 if i can see photos decently. I read A2 have some problems to record in europen PAL, is true now, or the latest firmwares corrected this problem My english is terrible, excuses |

Wow this is annoying...QVC in the UK have a cracking 'Today's Special Value' price for the AV500 80gb model.
£299.88 + £5.95 del I was intending to wait for the next version of the A2 but boy that AV500 is tempting and does make the A2 look (at least in Europe) pretty pricey. Gonna have to sleep on it...but come on Cowon get busy on lowering the prices! Last edited by IdontexistM8; 05-27-2006 at 19:04.. |

AV500 80GB model? They must have some exclusive agreement with Archos, because other than the 30, 60, (rare) and 100GB versions, there are no others. Now I know the AV420 came in an 80GB iteration, perhaps that is what they are selling. It makes sense at the price point you mentioned. I'd check again, because an 80GB version really makes no sense when they already manufacture a 100GB version.

Well, I stand corrected. The other, more interesting product on that page I thought, was the "Archos Gimini 500" which looks exactly like the AV500, (or AV580 on that page) but is black. It is also only £351.00, versus £363.00 for the AV580, (the same damn thing, only in silver). Interesting find there.

Gmini500 has no recording feature, that's the only difference with the AV500.
I still prefer my A2!! |
