As everyone knows, the D3 suffered from a volume decrease when using any other third party app for music.
Can anyone that owns a z2 confirm whether or not the volume drops when using a third party music app? Thanks |

I use Rockbox and Poweramp, both sound as loud as the stock player. The current firmware fixed that problem.

its true. some apps suffer a volume decrease. im using tunein (internet radio app) and the volume is a lot softer than some other apps like poweramp.

Thanks for answering. Initially I was mad because now I would have to get a Z2. However, since it is a firmware fix, it would seem like it is possible to do the same with the D3. Now I am mad if they don't fix the D3. |

I have used Poweramp and the volume is significantly louder. Nearly blew my ears off.
But the volume on the little speaker is much lower but i dont use that anyway. |

Even if I use jetAudio (an app created by Cowon!) the volume is significantly lower and the distortion starts at volume level ~40.

Sorry i just have not got this issue with lower volume.
But I have lost volume to the speaker at the top of the player. I have used Poweramp and the new Jetaudio. Both are fine for me. |

I never had issues with sound level, with any 3rd party apps. Actually sound level is even higher than with stock app.
My issue is that except stock app, all 3rd party app have background noise, hiss and distortion. I must admin that I have high-end in ear monitors and most of Z2 owners will not notice any difference, but it is quite clear. Stock app is perfectly "silent" on the other hand. I hope at some point Cowon will fix this. ![]() ![]() |

Well, Hopefully one of the four things happen soon before the 32gb drops and I get this.
1) Stock player is updated for full cover album (it looks like it is a small square at the right corner of the player) and various other options are streamlined into the bottom menu bar. 2) Android 3rd party apps need to be updated for better support of the z2's hardware/software. 3) Cowon needs to try the third party apps and see how they can fix the Z2 firmware to have the hiss, distortion, and other audio problems fixed through their hardware/software. 4) Maybe it's time for Kizune to roll up his sleeves and show Cowon a thing or two ... at least after Cheetah XT gets out of beta...
