Hi folks, first off, I'm so glad I found this place and you have started to give me hope that I might fix my C2! So I followed the instructions regarding tcctool and whatnot... I have managed to repeat the "patching application uploaded successfully" step on several occasions, and the result is that I can see the player in "My Computer", the screen is indicating "USB connected" and all seems to be very encouraging. I have also managed to copy the firmware files to the root directory of the C2.
I have the added difficulty that the USB connection is extremely unstable and when it connects, it disconnects if I breathe on it... I did, however, manage to properly disconnect it (with the "safely remove hardware" thing) on one occasion. The problem: even after all this, I can't turn the player on. Any other ideas? Thanks! |

Thanks to another post here, I finally managed to plug it properly (who would have thought to push so hard?!). So now, I'll try keeping it plugged in and charging for 24 hours before disconnecting, and see if that helps.

Hi, my C2 player just froze when I tried to put it on. Afterwards I got this error screen and the thing where you have to point in all 4 corners. Since then the player is dead.
So I tried the TCCTOOl and followed all steps as mentioned, with succes. Although all my music was gone my device was again recognized by my computer. But as soon as I safely disconnected my C2 it gave the "updating database screen" and when I tried to put it on after that it did nothing. I read sometimes you need to do the whole TCCTOOL procedure 2 times, So I did it again, and again, and again... the player gets recognized by my computer everytime but as soon as I disconnect it it's dead again. Can anyone help? I have no idea what may be causing this (no sd card inserted, cable properly connected, never had serious porblems before, ...) |

Just wanted to say, I was trying to go from 1.15 back to 1.11 and it bricked. I probably did this procedure 20 times and finally got back to 1.15, whew. I noticed that if I held down -/+ at the same time as plugging it in usb port, I could watch my device manager read it, not, read it, not... very very flakey. The most annoying thing was the crappy proprietary cable that is difficult to get seated correct because the cover gets in the friggin' way. Thank goodness for this forum to tell me to try it 2 times. Well, not only do you have to do it more than 2 times, you have to do it in a very very exact order. I struggled with it for a couple of hours and felt like I accomplished a lot once it returned to 1.15.

god damn you work or I will break you beyond repair myself! I've had "failed to load resource" problems for months now, did the reloads/updates when necessary but today got the touch screen recalibration screen (which is the first time on mine) touched the four corners and then nothing. it won't switch on, laptop doesn't acknowledge it at all, properly bricked this time. tried the tcctool fix I followed the instructions at the top of this sticky, I've tried all the little variations all the way through this thread but when I input the command cd c:\tcctool followed by tcctool -d cowons9 cowon_c2_fw.bin or cowon_s9_fw.bin all i get is "the system cannot find the path specified" does anyone have any idea what i might be doing wrong or anything else I can try? think it's out of warranty had it for over a year now so no chance of a new one if it's screwed. cheers! it's about to get bounced off the wall so please help quick. OS win 7.

is your Tcctool Folder in C:\? it has to be within the Root of C:\
where you see all the other Folders like "program Files, downloads, Etc" Root is the main Directory of Drive C:\ where normally Windows is installed
