Default C2 - bricked - new type of error

I have the C2 with FW 1.11 installed.

Today when switching it on, all that appears on the screen is the word "touch" with an arrow pointing up to the left, at the top left of the screen:

I have followed the method to unbrick the player at http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=39678 and when I get to this stage:

Quote:
[INFO] Patching application uploaded successfully!
the screen on the player changes to:

showing that the firmware is updating. But approximately at halfway the screen then reverts to that of the first screen above and then nothing else happens. I have tried the unbricking method several times but the result is the same.

Is there is anything else I can try? I would be very grateful for any help.

the touch looks like its trying to calibrate the screen. touch the dot. touch any dots after that.

Use something sharp to touch the indicated dot. After that, you will see the message change asking you to touch a dot on the top right corner of the screen. Then the message will change again (bottom right corner). And finally the bottom left corner.

Default Did you ultimately got it up ?

I had the same problem on day one of using C2.
It was recovered with a FW update. http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=39409

Now I am on 1.11 and this thing is still buggy.... The C2 memory got corrupted today and "No resource" error showed up... Had to re-install the FW 1.11.
I ended up loosing many of the songs in C2 and found a lot of directories with funny names (corrupted)... So backup the C2 frequently until the FW is stable.....

Seems like the problems occur only when/after connected to computer to transfer songs... Otherwise, it seems free from bugs..

take the player out of MTP mode, format it with the SDFormatter, then copy your songs/books back onto it.

MTP mode seems to be bugged at least for me, confirmed by the 2x i had it cause errors on the device.

i had the same crapy problem !!
i did the un-bricked solution , and it works just have to tap the pixel in the four corner at the end of the drivers instalation.
Does anyone report this pb to cowon ?
Maybe we can write a petition in order to have a new stable firmware ?!

im sure cowon is working on new firmwares for their current devices, problem is they need to hire more people for their firmware teams, people who have skills at this kinda work....and people who get that having something like .m3u support would be nice
