I have an A2 and I like it a lot. 30G is a bit small for me, so I've thought about upgrading to an A3.
However, a good number of my MP3s skip on the A2. They skip enough to make them unlistenable. If I buy a new player, I'd really like to avoid that. I don't know for sure what it is about the files that do this. It seems to be (but this is not scientific LAME encoded files, in VBR, with an average bitrate of at least somewhere about 200kbps. The new LAME VBR profile might be related, I should test that.Anyhow - has anyone run into skipping MP3s on an A3? Thanks! |

Nope, not me..
Never happened to me once, and i can also tell u that its not related to the bitrate. I have lots of mp3's on my A3 which r 128 Kbps and they all play fine. Have u tried to FW fix it?

Yea, I downloaded the latest firmware and it doesn't seem to affect it... it sounds like the mp3 hardware doesn't have enough buffer to keep up with these MP3s.
I don't have any handy, but I'll have to dig some up tonight and post them to have you test, if you don't mind ![]() |
