Default XVID Problems

I just got an A3, its a bit slow for my likes, but it sounds great.

However XVID files arnt playing right.

I have a whole series of XVID files I ripped, some play fine while others loose sync a little bit into the video, not only that it plays the video sluggishly like Half speed.

Also, the player seems to get VERY hot, is this normal?

Even when it is off and charging it gets HOT.

Finaly, I am looking for a way to Rip a DVD to DivX 6 with multi track audio.
I have some DIVX with multitrack and I love them, is there a good program for this?

If you are using firmware 1.18Beta this is a known problem. Try 1.15A

I am using the 1.15 now and I still have audio sync WAY off on XVID.

I love the player as a whole, but I was really counting on XVID working.

10 mins into a video the sound is over a second off.

Curious I don't have any similar issues - this is how I encode XviD:

Application: AutoGK 2.40
Target Quality 45% (seems fine on the A3 screen)
Fixed Width: 720
Audio: Original (AC3/DTS/MPA only) - I have also successfully used MP3 VBR 256kbps
Codec: XviD
Output Format: AVI

Films play really smoothly, without any sound sync problems - even if fast-forward and rewind are used heavily.

I assume the films play without a problem on the PC.

Also my A3 gets warm when playing and charging, but I would not decribe it as hot. It seems to run cooler than my old A2 did.

Yeah the clips run fine on the PC.

I am also having MPG problems. I was watching several music videos in MPG, and it would be in sync, then it would stop playing sound for a second to make sure it was still in sync.

I sure hope these things are fixed. I know the player has only been out 3 months.

But those errors are pretty sad.

Since they had the A2 as a base - I agree these problems are sad. I'm not talking the HD video here, I want the A2+. Some people are not getting it now (especially if they are having trouble with XviD).

Xvid HD 1280by720p example, plays smoothly at 30fps on my A3 unit.
