EP-630 and FM reception?

I just registered on this forum and like to say "HELLO" to everybody over here.

Of course, I also need some advice from you guys ...... :

Since last week I am the proud/happy owner of a X5L 30GB :bigthumbs and I am considering buying the Creative EP-630 earphones. (I hate the constant messing with the Cowon buds to get them in position again).

Now I read that the standard earphones also function as antenna. Does this mean that with the EP-630, I can forget about listening to the radio?

The FM reception over here in Scotland isn't the best to begin with

Or am I better off getting another type/brand of earphones?

Any headphones should work.

uhhh.. the only thing I can think of to ask is:
Are the EP-630s wireless? Is that why it's an issue?
I don't have any idea how that would work.. basically, the idea behind the headphones is that the cord is an extension of whatever miniature antenna is built in to the player (been that way since the first walkmen).

I didn't know, do I feel stupid now. I guessed it was the big ugly silver coloured ends on the standard earphones that were functioning as antenna.

I'm ordering my EP-630 now, hopefully Amazon will get it delivered before next week

No, the ep 630s are not wireless and they work fine with radio. Sound very good for the money too.
