Default PDA`s sound versus Cowon/iRiver players

I want to buy a PDA instead of new MP3 player and i want to ask if there are big differeces in sound between for example HTC or E-TEN PDA`s and specialized MP3 players. PDA has usualy 2.5 mm audio conector instead of standard 3.5 mm, but it is not problem to change conector at headphones.

I want to buy E-ten x800, look at the specifications:

it think that it is the best and universal thing ever made. I`m only afraid if it does`nt have some crappy audio chip/amplifier.
