New version.
No big changes, just some cosmetic fixes. Also works with 1.xx versions of firmware. I think it deserves a separate thread, so it will be easier to find. Enjoy! Quote:

any chance of getting side by side screenshots of the new font patch and old font patch in effect on the D2 to show the cosmetic fixes?

In the screen themes thread you'll see a lot of screenshots, they all show the new font.
And Dominic, it's unlikely you'll notice the cosmetic fixes. |

Huh? I don't appreciate these updates at all.
. . . . . . Just kidding. MaxSt has been an incredible, yet highly reserved, force in turning the D2 into a UI modding wonderland. Colour me continually impressed. I suppose that might be greenish blue, or something. - wader |

Don't mean to sound stupid but what do you need to do with it to make your font bigger?

well......crap!....if i switch it, and then turn it back, will i lose all my..."stuff?"
and how do i do it? the way i see it, i can reset everything if i need to, but i dont see a font file =[ scratch that, i went ahead and reformatted the whole thing (all my data was on the SD, so i just popped it out and ill just pop it back in when im done)...in other news, if you make a system folder, stick the logo.ilb and then stick it in the root drive, the player will then go ahead and install it and use it like you did stick it in the system folder to begin with. thats just an easy way for someone like me to cheat =P Last edited by silint; 07-24-2007 at 23:47.. |

There have been some file indexing issues, where files don't appear in the D2 UI after switching from MTP to MSC, but I believe each of those cases I saw involved trying to copy those original files to the D2 via a UMS-protocol program under MTP mode. Or something weird like that. Recopying the files fixed the issue. - wader |

like i said, i popped out the SD card and just reformatted and reinstalled my theme and all that jazz. everything has gone smoothly. took me all of 30 seconds to recreate my default jeteffect theme...
i dont want to make a new topic, but wader, what is the best video converter for BIG files? the one that elvis has made works, but once it goes over 100 mb, it always fails and i want to encode movies and that kind of jazz. |

Yup, I was late to respond for your prior post.
I don't know if there is a best video conversion tool for all bigger files, and I use various ones (some, in two- or three-stage processes). However, for converting DVD-sized movies with a single encoding pass and not worrying about external subtitle integration, I've found that ffmpeg is tough to beat for the D2. Instead of using a batch file and two-pass encoding, I use WinFF and single-pass encoding for the faster conversion jobs - which actually looks pretty swell on the D2 and stays in perfect A/V synch. See this and the post which follows it for my usage details. There's more information on using ffmpeg (with other tools) for D2 encoding here. Now, get back on topic, you! ![]() - wader |

well, i WILL get back on topic with this handy word of advice...
just make it a zip. drag and drop the 2 (or 1) file into the root folder. unplug, restart, and it says "Font Update." no reason to make it an exe when all you do is put it in root. |
