Just wanted to say that it's thanks to the D3 having a proprietary cable that for the last 17months it was probably one of only a handful of (or less!) android devices which supported digital audio...

Try getting in touch with advancedmp3players. They are one of Cowon's authorised distributors in the UK and have engineers who visit Cowon for training. Being an S9 I'm guessing it's outside warranty...

^Thanks for the reminder about the J3 chip. So Cowon used the same one in J3 and D3. I wonder if the S9 used the WM8960G model too or if they went with a better spec one when upgrading from S9 to J3....
