This also happens randomly, I get a micro sd card is damage message then it resets the player. It might be the brand PNY, It never happens when i switch to a Sandisk card.

I was experiencing the same problem, try deleting these files from the Rockbox folder: .playlist_control, config.cfg, database, and nvram. Then update your datebase again.

I use Rockbox and Poweramp, both sound as loud as the stock player. The current firmware fixed that problem.

That makes a big difference. I put the volume up to 45 on the Z2 and is still not loud enough for me.
