That would be an interesting firmware feature: remember EQ settings for specific albums, songs, or genres. I wonder if Rockbox can already do that. If not, it might be a cool thing to add.

I seriously doubt this. SD cards usually don't use a partition table, and the file limit may result from the player wanting to keep a tags database in RAM, which puts an upper limit on the database...

Wow cool, didn't know anyone here was using one of those. I do think bigger screens are more vulnerable to breakage. So far my Sansa Clip seems pretty durable.

I like Ogg and use it and choose Ogg format downloads in preference to mp3 when they're available (archive.org and magnatune.com have them). Encoding speed per se isn't a big issue these days...
