Nope, this way it wouldn't be possible.
But if there would be a textfile with the name list.txt (just an example) where are all icons listed, you could read the textfile and process it, so that your interface displays a proper list where you can choose the icon.

So if I understood well... if I want to make a list (with image or text) with .png icons to allow to the user to choose, I can't ?
