I personaly feel my headphones start to be driven too hard at 38-40 with the dt880's, with the ue10's it was 36-37. Both 32ohm phones With slightly different sensitivities.

by driven too hard i mean i worry damage will be caused if i go higher as i hear distortions similar to when a speaker is about to burn out.

chances are they would be ok and with the dt's i often go to 40 for quieter tracks. but i dont feel comfortable doing it And back it off soon after.

I seek an amp so the mid/low sound levels become more prominant without reaching that dangerous feeling. Which is what i achieve using my pc's soundcard, so i know its possible.

    Hope that helps a little.

Enzyme, if you're interested, I have a Wales gallery in my facebook account to look at:

A lot are my daughters, but some could remind you the country. Dylan Thomas small Garage, Powis Castle, The Persely blue Mountains, big celtic crosses. My wife took the pic, and I treated them for Black and White. Hope you enjoy them.

    Best Regards,

    Greg
